Live Outdoor Music Festival Coverage

We provided full camera coverage for Chillfest festival 2024, including iso record and live outdoor screen camera feed.

With a show day morning rig time for a 1:30pm show start, this was the perfect example of why our OB van is streamlined for these types of events. Traditionally production would have 1-2 days rig time for these types of events, but our solutions enabled us to slash these rig times and be show ready in plenty of time.

We used our Blackmagic Ursa G2’s on SMTPE fibre runs for the FOH position, on a rail mounted dolly in the pit and on our ABC Jib. The rail dolly gave us some very dynamic and cinematic close up shots of the bands, whilst our jib provided sweeping ariel shots of the stage and audience members, both adding another dimension of interest for the viewers both live and for the post event record.

In the wings we had some of our Sony FR7 hot heads with 28-135mm lenses, to capture side angles of the band and return shots of the audience from stage perspective.

The festival ran for 2 days, with acts such as Scouting for Girls, and Marc Almond of Soft Cell. The unfortunate weather conditions over the weekend works as testament to the weather proofing of the systems put in place, and the determination and willingness of our crew to deliver a great show.
