2 Person seated interview at our office
We were asked to film a 2 person interview for a podcast. The client also required a space to film in, so we invited them to our office in Harpenden Herts where we have studio space available.
We used 3 x Sony FX9 cameras for this, 1 being a fixed 2 shot of the speakers, then the other 2 being on each speaker individually. We fitted a teleprompt screen on the wide angle camera with Cues for the questions to be asked to ensure the interview continued to flow smoothly. When shooting pieces like this we always like to use multiple camera to give maximum choice once we move to the edit in Premiere. Being able to cut to someone not speaking but nodding in agreement is very important to keep the interview feeling natural.
Sennheiser microphones to capture their talks (me1 lavs, and 416 shotgun), audio fed directing into camera and recorded to internal Sony XQD Cards. Monitoring video on our JVC DT-U31 reference monitor which gives us a multiview of all cameras and also has in built scopes for metering.
