Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless Microphone System — Dry Hire

The Sennheiser AVX is the wireless system to hire when you do not want to think about wireless. It runs in the licence-free 1.9GHz band, so there is no Ofcom licence to arrange and no coordination with the venue’s existing radio mics. At power-up the receiver scans and picks the cleanest channel itself; if interference appears mid-take it raises transmitter power and, if that is not enough, moves to a clear frequency without dropping audio.

The receiver is a compact plug-on that goes straight into a camera’s XLR input and rotates through 320° to sit tidily behind the body. It powers up and down with the camera, so there is one less thing to switch on at the start of a shoot and one less battery to find flat at the end of it.
